Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 18, 2026 — This page explains how the Instant AI browser extension collects, uses, stores, and protects information.

Extension: Instant AI

1. Summary

Instant AI helps you summarize web pages with the AI tool of your choice. It reads the page (or the text you select) in your browser, copies it with a summary prompt to your clipboard and opens the AI tool you pick. The extension has no servers of its own and sends no data anywhere: no analytics, no tracking.

2. Data we may process

The extension may handle the following types of data:

  • Web content you interact with: text content from webpages is processed locally in your browser.
  • Local settings: configuration options and preferences stored in the browser extension storage (e.g., user preferences, display settings).

3. How we use data

All data processing happens locally in your browser. We use the data to:

  • Provide smart web assistance features within your browser.
  • Display information to you within the extension interface.
  • Respect user preferences saved in browser storage to improve UX.

4. Do we share your data?

No. The extension does not transmit your data to us or to any third party. When you choose an AI tool (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, DeepSeek, Perplexity or Grok), the extension only opens that site; the content reaches it only if you paste it there yourself. What happens to it then is governed by that service's own privacy policy.

5. Security

We aim to follow best practices to protect your data. All processing happens locally in your browser. The extension stores only minimal configuration in the browser's extension storage. We do not store or log the content you interact with.

6. Retention

We do not retain copies of the content you interact with. Data is processed in memory and then discarded. Your preferences remain stored in your browser's extension storage until you remove them or uninstall the extension.

7. Children

The extension is not intended for use by children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the extension to share personal data, contact us (see below).

8. Your rights

You may:

  • Control what content you process with the extension.
  • Remove the extension at any time via your browser's extension management UI.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally; we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Substantive changes will be communicated in the extension's release notes.

10. Contact
